Alexander Kann, Chair

Alex is Chief Executive of Together TV, the TV channel inspiring positive change. 

Millions of viewers tune in to Together TV each month via TV and digital platforms, with 85% taking up new interests and activities as a result of watching. Together TV runs themed challenges with hundreds of thousands of people taking part. It also runs the BAFTA-winning Diverse Film Fund. 

Alex previously worked for BBC / BBC Studios (iPlayer launch team, Kangaroo, global VOD projects, commissioning, drama, M&A) and independent TV and film distributors. 

He chairs the TV On Demand Industry Forum in addition to his role at My Life Films.

Emma Hewat

Emma Hewat has over 20 years' experience of dementia care, working to improve the well-being of all those living in, working in and visiting care settings, by developing individuals' skills and knowledge through education and training, coaching and mentoring and role modelling current evidence-based best practice.  

Emma currently works as Director of Dementia for KYN, a relatively new collection of London-based care homes, leading on their dementia strategy. She is passionate about improving the daily experience of people living with dementia through non-pharmacological approaches, such as My Life TV that can offer opportunities for reminiscence, fun and connection.

Georgina Lestini

Georgina Lestini has worked in international marketing for over 35 years, in the private sector for American Express throughout Europe Middle East and Africa,  driving and consulting on brand, direct marketing and all other aspects of marketing.

She then worked for eight years in the non-profit sector for hospice care, firstly at Martlets Hospice in Brighton, and then at Ellenor Hospice in Gravesend. As Head of Marketing with great teams, her marketing skills were used to showcase the incredible work these organisations provided for both patients and their families living with a terminal illness.

Georgina brings her experience to My Life Films as a Trustee to ensure stability of support now and in the future for the wellbeing of patients and families living with dementia.

Carolin-Marie Roth 

Carolin-Marie has a background in television production and presenting, and has always been passionate about health and improving quality of life despite challenges. 

She has written a book on the impact of yoga on health, which has been published in the UK and will soon be published in Germany.

As a mother of three adult daughters and grandmother to three young girls, Carolin-Marie cares deeply about her brainchild My Life Films, an initiative she and her husband, Jörg Roth, founded in 2014. 

Alongside her role as co-founder and trustee, she works as a yoga teacher in Richmond, Surrey, and uses her skills and connections to support My Life Films through fundraising events.

Maana Ruia

Maana Ruia is a finance and environmental, social and governance (ESG) professional with 25 years’ experience in asset management and consulting, with an understanding of the challenges of growing a business while embedding ESG aims, practices and messaging internally and externally. 

At CEN, Maana is responsible for several major client contracts, providing oversight and review of all work conducted by wider project teams. She has conducted and overseen a wide range of ESG deliverables, including Task Force on Climate-Related Financial Disclosures reporting, Sustainability Reports, ratings agency submissions, Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive readiness, carbon footprinting, and target setting.

She has a particular interest in social impact studies and evidencing the social return on investment.

Sylvia Woon

Sylvia is a commercial business leader with 25 years in sales and marketing of global consumer brands. 

Sylvia became involved with MLF as a way of honouring her father who lived with dementia for many years. She experienced first-hand the impact that content can make in the engagement and well-being of a loved one and contributes her time to help make My Life Films available to more people living with dementia in the UK.
